Lahore Museum

Founded in 1865, this museum is considered Pakistan’s most visited and highly regarded museum locations. The collections include an extensive array of Buddhist art from the Indo-Greet and Gandhara kingdoms, as well as collections from the Mughal Empire, Sikh Empire and the British Empire. On display are archaeological materials from pre-historic times to modern day including history, arts, applied arts and various crafts, as well as a photo gallery dedicated to Pakistan’s emergence as an independent state.

Shakir Ali Museum

Inaugurated in 1975 after the death of artist and painter Shakir Ali, this is a family home museum located in Lahore. It includes the personal belongings of Shakir Ali, including his paintings and drawings. A research library has been setup on site containing art books as well as playing host to workshops, seminars and various exhibitions.
